GGUSD to Collect Donations at Community Aid Drive on Saturday, Aug. 9
- Friday, August 8, 2025

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting students and families through our Community Schools initiative, Garden Grove Unified School District is hosting a Community Aid Drive on Saturday, August 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in front of the District Office at 10331 Stanford Avenue, Garden Grove.
Donated items will be distributed directly to GGUSD families in need through their school sites during the first week of school. There are two important ways our GGUSD community can come together to support one another:
- Donate if you are able: We invite you to attend the Community Aid Drive and contribute essential items such as dry food (e.g., rice, beans), canned goods (e.g., chicken, tuna), bottled water, paper products, personal hygiene items, and backpacks. Please see the attached flyer for a full list of needed items and instructions for entering and exiting the donation drop-off line.
- Request support if needed: If your family is experiencing food insecurity or other significant hardships, please contact your school office to share your specific needs. Many schools have also distributed a Community Needs Survey via ParentSquare to better understand and address the needs of families.
- Contact Info: Click here for a list of schools and access your school’s website for office contact information. As always, if your family is experiencing hardship, do not hesitate to reach out to one of our Family Resource Centers (click here for contact information) or call our Family Helpline (Monday through Friday) at 714-663-6257. Both our Family Resource Centers and Helpline are staffed by bilingual School Community Liaisons who can connect families to resources to meet a variety of needs including food insecurity, mental health counseling, immigration-related challenges, and more.
We care deeply about the well-being of our GGUSD families and are committed to working together to ensure that every student and family has the resources they need to thrive.
Thank you for being an essential part of our caring GGUSD community.
