Pre-enrollment Guide
ONLINE PRE-ENROLLMENT PROCESS FOR
STUDENTS NEW TO GARDEN GROVE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
All parents new to Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) must pre-enroll their students online, work with the school to create a Parent Portal account, and provide the necessary documents to complete the enrollment process.
The first step in the enrollment process for parents is to pre-enroll their students online at https://enroll.ggusd.us. The online enrollment process is available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Korean.
Following the online pre-enrollment process, parents must provide the school with the required documents. These documents include proof of the student’s birth date, immunization records, and documents for residency verification affidavit. Parents may contact the school to schedule an appointment to finalize enrollment.
Acceptable Residency Verifications

RESIDENCE VERIFICATION is established by providing the following:
Verification of Identity Purposes as the student’s parent, caregiver, licensed foster agency or group home representative, or California Superior Court-appointed legal guardian:
- A Driver’s License (any photo driver’s license or CA ID Card is permitted) or,
- A passport with photo ID
- If an agent or representative of social services or foster care agency, appropriate identification.
Two forms of residency verification that reflect the property owner’s or primary renter’s name and the current address
Current Income Tax Documents or Property Tax Payment Receipts (from the IRS, State, and/or County)
Current Rental Property or Lease Agreement (Please include payment receipts)
Current Utility Bills including both parts, top & bottom (Electric, Gas, and/or Water)**
Current Voter Registration
Current Payroll Stub (both name and address must appear on payroll stub)
Current Social Services Documents (i.e. Cal Fresh, Medicaid, SNAP, etc.)
(We can’t accept cell phone or cable/internet bills)
If the current address and/or verification documents are not in your name, you must complete the Shared Residency Supplemental Form. It must be completed and attached to the Residency Verification Affidavit only by parents or guardians who share a home with another individual or family member.
Other important documents, if needed
- Academic transcript or report card from your previous school. The school site will request prior school records.
- Student IEP/504 documents
Verification of age. The following documents establish age:
Any of the documents listed below are acceptable age verification documents:
- A certified copy of a birth record;
- A statement of the local registrar/county recorder certifying the date of birth;
- A passport
- An immigration visa
- An Affidavit of Age Verification form is required from the parents/guardian of the minor if none of the foregoing is obtainable. (If needed, this form is available from the school office.)

Immunization Resources:
California Education code Section 49423 allows the School Nurse or other designated non-medical school personnel to assist students who are required to take medication during the school day. This service is provided to enable the student to remain in school and to maintain or improve his/her potential for education and learning.
