GGUSD Hosts CA Collaborative Meeting to Share Best Practices and Elevate Student & Parent Voices
- Tuesday, March 4, 2025

Garden Grove Unified School District welcomed educational leaders, community partners, and administrators from other districts on February 19-20 for a two-day California Collaborative on District Reform meeting, a dynamic gathering aimed at sharing best practices and fostering meaningful discussions about student success.
The event provided a unique opportunity for attendees to explore GGUSD’s proven strategies while engaging in collaborative discussions on strengthening educational outcomes. GGUSD was proud to showcase its work to support undocumented students and families, grant-funded Community Schools initiatives, and the comprehensive systems used in GGUSD to promote safe and welcoming schools and engage families in the process. A key highlight of the meeting was hearing directly from GGUSD parents and students, who shared personal experiences, challenges, and triumphs within the district. Their insights offered valuable perspectives that fueled conversations on advancing a culture of excellence, and student-centered learning both inside and outside of the classroom.
“As a district, we prioritize listening to our students and families to ensure their voices shape our policies and programs,” said Board of Education President Lan Nguyen. “By engaging in dialogue with other district leaders, we are able to exchange ideas and continue supporting the success of all students and their families.”
Through collaboration with education partners and a commitment to continuous improvement, GGUSD remains dedicated to innovation and excellence in education. The insights and discussions from the California Collaborative meeting will help inform future strategies to enhance student learning and community engagement.
